Concealed carry holster with M1911A-1

Shown above is a large size, right hand draw SmartCarry® "Invisible Holster"TM with Charlie's Ithaca M1911A-1 carry pistol inside. Please note the Milet adjustable 1911 replacement rear sight that Charlie's installed, along with other refinements, when he accurized his carry gun. Also installed is the Milet front sight blade which he silver soldered into the slide. Other modifications include a full length recoil spring guide, throated and polished feed ramp and lower barrel chamber edge, tightened slide, trigger job and an L & H (they're located in Texas) match barrel and bushing. The barrel bushing had to be removed with a bushing wrench for the first several hundred rounds.

Note the correct fit of the handgun in the holster, with the entire trigger guard inside the firearm pocket of the holster, completely enclosing and protecting the trigger from any outside objects, including your own fingers, when the firearm is in the holster and you're wearing it.

The reason the Milet rear sight has never snagged on Charlie's clothing when he draws (and Charlie draws about 200 or more times a day at gun shows, demonstrating the holster) is simply because your lower outer garment (jeans, in Charlie's case) must ride over your knuckles and your shirt is under your thumb as you draw. Your hand opens an "exit" path for the firearm, so your clothing never touches the rear of the firearm during the draw.
